Job summary

The Grasshopper Company is a family-owned business with over 50 years in manufacturing True ZeroTurn riding mowers. We are hiring a full-time Shipping & Receiving Dock Forklift Driver for a daytime shift to load/unload trucks and manage the dock area with a focus on safety and accuracy.

You will operate forklifts and related equipment, verify shipments against BOLs, and help with packing, staging, and shipping.

Qualifications

• Must have prior forklift experience or training preferred.
• Full-time day shift, steady schedule.
• Attention to detail and safety-conscious work practices.

Responsibilities

• Verify incoming shipments and loading docks with accuracy.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
• Inspect shipments for damage, report discrepancies.
• Store and organize materials in designated areas.
• Load outgoing parts orders securely for transport.
• Maintain organized staging areas and accurate records.
• Assist with packing and shipping during peak periods.

Shipping & Receiving Dock Forklift Driver - 1st Shift

Full-time shipping & receiving dock forklift driver needed for day shift. Responsible for loading and unloading trucks and trailers using forklifts and other material handling equipment. Previous forklift experience a must. Previous receiving experience preferred. Some onthe job training provided.

Essential Functions:

• Verify incoming shipments against Bills of Lading (BOL), purchase orders, and packing slips to ensure order accuracy.
• Must be able to safely operate various types of forklifts and powered material handling equipment or be able to learn to operate them.
• Inspect incoming shipments for visible damage, shortages, or discrepancies and promptly report issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Accurately stage and organize incoming materials and outgoing shipments in designated areas of the dock.
• Transport received materials to proper storage locations using forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Assist in putting received materials away into designated warehouse or storage locations as time permits.
• Load outgoing parts orders onto trucks or freight carriers ensuring correct items, quantities, and secure placement for transport.
• Maintain organized staging areas to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and material flow.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy of shipments and receipts.
• Maintain accurate documentation of receiving and shipping activities as required.
• Assist with parts pulling, packing, and shipping operations during periods of high order volume or when forklift duties are limited.
• Work both on and off forklifts as operational needs require.
• Must be constantly alert to potential hazards and keep a safety awareness attitude.
