Job summary

Crane Cryogenics, LLC is seeking a Shipping Clerk to plan, stage, and dispatch products, and to manage freight for stock. You will coordinate shipments, prepare paperwork, and communicate with carriers to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance; team lift required for parts >50 lbs.
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software; ability to perform shipping/receiving transactions in company systems.
  • Basic math skills (add/subtract fractions & decimals) for calculating charges; basic reading/writing to interpret customer orders and trafficking requirements.
  • Good dexterity for packaging and related shipping/receiving activities; knowledge of shipping, receiving, and stockroom operations, methods, and practices.
  • Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane (certification as required).

Responsibilities

  • Release, prepare, stage, package, crate, palletize, box, weigh, label, and load product per procedures and customer requirements.
  • Perform all computer transactions to support shipping activity and process export shipments through UPS and FedEx systems; work with HTS codes as needed.
  • Create shipping documentation (e.g., pick lists, bills of lading, photo), label shipping containers, and consolidate orders when appropriate.
  • Safely maneuver in and out of bay door openings.
  • Receive, verify, and enter incoming production and non production freight against purchase orders; key counts into the system.
  • Maintain accurate records in required programs/systems (e.g., QAD, NetSuite, Eagle TMS) and uphold safety and housekeeping standards.

Manages shipping paperwork and systems, coordinates assignments to ensure shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, and communicates with carriers to move materials and finished goods on time.Principle Responsibilities:• Demonstrate Crane’s core values, Genuine Care and Concern, Helpfulness, Integrity.• Maintain a clean and orderly work area; comply with preventive maintenance schedules.• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.Shipping Operations• Release, prepare, stage, package, crate, palletize, box, weigh, label, and load product per procedures and customer requirements.• Perform all computer transactions to support shipping activity and process export shipments through UPS and FedEx systems; work with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes as needed.• Create shipping documentation (e.g., pick lists, bills of lading, photo), label shipping containers, and consolidate orders when appropriate.• Safely maneuver in and out of bay door openings.• Must be able to safely operate forklift and overhead crane to load carriers.Receiving Operations• Receive, verify, and enter incoming production and non production freight against purchase orders; key counts into the system.• Pull and receive outside process work orders; pick up work orders from scheduling.• Identify parts by part number, size, and material; notify Coordinator of damaged freight and sign the delivery receipt accordingly.• Remove obsolete inventory from stock and dispose as requested; organize and deliver materials/products appropriately.Documentation & Systems• Maintains accurate records in an organized fashion• Enter and maintain orders in required programs/systems (i.e- QAD, NetSuite, Eagle TMS)Quality, Safety & Housekeeping• Examine work for issues and conformance to policies and procedures; assist with inspection as needed.• Work productively within established production standards and complete special projects as assigned.Qualifications / Experience• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.• 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance; team lift required for parts >50 lbs.• Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software; ability to perform shipping/receiving transactions in company systems.• Basic math skills (add/subtract fractions & decimals) for calculating charges; basic reading/writing to interpret customer orders and trafficking requirements.• Good dexterity for packaging and related shipping/receiving activities; strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and stockroom operations, methods, and practices.• Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane (certification as required).Physical Demands• Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, bend stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.• Willingness to work a flexible schedule inclusive of overtime and weekends depending on business needs• Must be a legal resident of the United States with reliable transportation.• Must be able to work in both shop and office environments.• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentWork environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
