Procurement Clerk (Government Equipment) – San Antonio, TX
Minimum/General Experience
We are a fast-growing cyber defense contractor in San Antonio, TX, seeking a Procurement Clerk (Government Equipment) Clerk to support our operations by managing the secure and compliant movement of technical equipment and materials. You’ll play a key role in protecting our supply chain integrity, ensuring hardware and components arrive safely, on time, and in accordance with federal and industry security requirements.
Functional Responsibility
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Receiving, inspecting, and logging all incoming shipments including IT hardware, electronic components, and secure equipment.
- Preparing outgoing shipments with proper documentation, labeling, and secure packaging (if required).
- Operating shipping systems including FedEx, UPS, and USPS for domestic logistics.
- Maintaining up-to-date shipping records in accordance with company procedures and government regulations (ITAR, EAR, DFARS).
- Coordinating with procurement, inventory control, operations, and security teams to ensure accuracy and timely deliveries.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the shipping/receiving area and secure storage zones.
- Assisting with inventory cycle counts and physical asset audits as needed.
- Interfacing with vendors, delivery drivers, and logistics partners to resolve delivery issues or discrepancies.
- Familiarity with shipping systems (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager and USPS).
- Familiarity with property management systems (e.g., Sunflower, SnipeIT, spreadsheets).
- Experience generating shipping documentation that aligns with government regulations (ITAR, EAR, DoD 5220.22-M, etc.).
- Knowledge, experience, and expertise in how to use Microsoft 365 products in a corporate environment (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint).
- Experience using scanners, label printers, and managing RFID systems.
- Understanding of computer hardware, networking gear, and cybersecurity equipment (you may have to handle sensitive devices).
Required Physical Skills
- Ability to carry, lift, and maneuver 50+ pounds packages routinely (servers, crates, network hardware, etc.).
- Skill in organizing outgoing/incoming shipments for quick access and accountability in a secure storage environment.
- Stand and move for extended periods in a warehouse or lab environment.
- Fine motor skills for labeling, sorting, and packaging small components.
- Experience with pallet jacks, hand trucks, shrink-wrap machines, and basic hand tools.
Required Interpersonal Skills
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Must be able to work under pressure and prioritize competing assignments with tight deadlines in environments with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment and drive to meet or exceed objectives.
- Be self-motivated, organized, and capable of proactively identifying, sourcing, and handling multiple initiatives at one given time to successful completion.
- Be a team player and willing to work in a fast paced, fluid environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of shipping and receiving experience in a defense contracting company.
- Understanding of government property regulations is a plus.
Education And Security Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Associate’s degree is a plus
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to pass background checks for work on government contracts
LOCATION AND SCHEDULE:
- Location – San Antonio, TX
- Schedule – On-site everyday Monday-Friday (this is not a remote position)
