Job Summary:
A Shipping and Receiving Clerk ensures the accurate and efficient flow of goods by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining detailed records, and coordinating with carriers and internal departments. They inspect deliveries for damages, reconcile discrepancies between packing slips and orders, and prepare items for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and generating necessary documentation. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to operate material handling equipment, all while adhering to safety protocols and ensuring timely delivery of products.

Physical Demands:
Standing and Walking: Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8-10 hours per day, on concrete or other hard surfaces.
Lifting: Frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently. Occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance from another employee or material handling equipment.
Carrying: Frequently carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds for short distances (e.g., from a pallet to a staging area).
Pushing/Pulling: Regularly push and/or pull loaded carts, dollies, or pallet jacks weighing up to several hundred pounds.
Bending/Stooping: Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, or kneel to access materials, load/unload shipments, or inspect items at ground level.
Reaching: Frequently reach with hands and arms, including overhead reaching, to retrieve or place items on shelves, pallets, or in trucks.
Grasping/Handling: Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and to grasp and manipulate packages, labels, and equipment.
Visual Acuity: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus to read labels, packing slips, and operate equipment.
Hearing/Speaking: Ability to hear and speak clearly to communicate effectively with team members, carriers, and supervisors, and to hear equipment alarms or warnings.
Operating Equipment: Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and other warehouse machinery.
Repetitive Motions: Perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and arms (e.g., scanning, packaging, labeling).
Working Environment: Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may be subject to varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to dust.
