Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at our Piedmont, South Carolina manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for unloading incoming products, performing quality checks on products, pulling product, and loading trailers with a forklift.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain daily communication with the Department Manager, Customer Service, and other employees in the department to ensure all products being shipped meet quality requirements and specifications. This position will also record and track information in the inventory control system.

Responsibilities include:

• Loading and unloading trucks in proper sequence.
• Storing incoming inventory in the warehouse.
• Pulling outgoing inventory for shipment.
• Tracking inventory levels to ensure proper safety stock levels.
• Checking shipping and receiving tickets.
• Inspecting materials for quality defects and proper storage.
• Labeling products.
• Using forklift to load and unload trailers.
• Locking trailers before loading and unlocking after completion.
• Recording and tracking information in the inventory control system.
• Verifying proper loading of trucks.
• Inspecting trailers for damage.
• Running manifest and bills of lading.
• Handling bedding goods up to 75 lbs.
• Using computers to scan rolls.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift experience required.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with computerized equipment and basic computer skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
