Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc. is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate for the 1st shift at our Gaffney, SC facility. This full-time, permanent role runs Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm and includes benefits starting day one.

You will safely load/unload, pick and move materials with a forklift, and prepare orders for shipment while maintaining inventory accuracy. Experience in production/manufacturing is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license or medical clearance to drive company vehicles.
• Forklift certification with recertification every 3 years, or sooner if driving record/history changes.
• Previous production/manufacturing experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload delivery trucks, trailers, and customer vehicles safely while maintaining product integrity.
• Read and interpret customer orders, work orders, and shipping orders to determine items to move or ship.
• Move materials from receiving/storage to shipping or designated areas using a forklift.
• Stock and organize materials on racks and shelves per predetermined sequence.
• Ensure warehouse accessibility and safety for sales staff and customers.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets or shelves; relocate as needed.
• Mark materials with identifying information and assist in counting inventory for accuracy.
• Operate warehouse machinery and maintain safety and cleanliness in the facility.
• Comply with environmental, health & safety programs and company policies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Properly and safely load/unload delivery truck, trailer and/or customer vehicles while maintaining product integrity.
• Read and understand customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
• Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas with forklift.
• Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins per predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Ensure warehouses are accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
• Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
• Assist in counting physical inventory and responsible for accuracy in count.
• Ability to operate machinery within warehouse.
• Maintaining warehouse to company standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Wear the proper safety equipment.
• Comply & promote all environmental, health & safety programs, laws and regulations.
• Assist, learn, and become efficient in every position within the Department.
• May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
• Previous Production/Manufacturing experience highly preferred
• A valid driver’s license or successful medical clearance from a company-approved medical provider in lieu of a driver’s license
• Must be able to pass Company forklift certification and re-certification every three (3) years, or sooner if there is a change in driving record or medical history
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment
• Drive Company box truck, non CDL/DOT to in town warehouse to deliver and pick up products.
• The ability to package parts using all types of packaging materials, metal bands, covering, or other methods to secure product in boxes for shipment.
• The ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Stock finished goods from breezeway to primary using RF.
• Shop FEDEX bulk report.
• Load, drive product from main plant to Oxford and unload as needed.
• Work OT when 1st and 2nd breezeway associates take vacation.
• Work well with limited supervision.
• Wear the proper safety equipment.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
