Job summary

D&D Commodities, a business unit of Central Garden & Pet Company, is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Associate for our Greeley, CO location. The role supports warehouse operations including material handling, inventory movement, and order fulfillment using forklifts, RF scanners, and SAP.

First shift, full-time, with potential overtime and weekend shifts. You will load/unload, ship/receive, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced warehouse environment while prioritizing safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year of warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Detail-oriented with strong coordination and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with SAP, RF scanners, and basic computing.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, move, and track products using forklifts, RF scanners, SAP, and warehouse systems.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks to move products within the warehouse and shipping areas.
• Pick, assemble, wrap, label, and prepare orders for shipment using RF guns for accuracy.
• Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and coordinate to resolve inventory or shipment issues.
• Sort, stock, rotate, and organize inventory to maintain accuracy and rotation.

D&D Commodities, a business unit of Central Garden & Pet Company, is a leader in the bird food manufacturing industry. We are searching for a Shipping and Receiving Associate for our Greeley, CO, location. This role is critical to supporting warehouse operations through material handling, inventory movement, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving activities. As part of our warehouse team, you will use forklifts and warehouse systems to load, unload, move, pick, stage, and track products and materials while supporting inventory accuracy and working collaboratively to meet tight schedules and deadlines in a safe and efficient manner within a fast-paced warehouse environment.

• First shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
• Full-time position, with potential for some overtime and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load, unload, move, and track products, materials, and supplies using forklifts, RF scanners, SAP, and warehouse tracking systems to support warehouse operations and inventory accuracy.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks to load, unload, move, stage, and transport products and materials within warehouse and shipping areas.
• Pick, assemble, wrap, label, and prepare orders for shipment using RF guns, ensuring accurate product preparation and shipment accuracy.
• Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and coordinate internally to resolve inventory, receiving, or shipment issues.
• Sort, stock, rotate, and organize inventory to maintain accuracy and proper inventory rotation practices.
• Collaborate with warehouse personnel, office staff, and carriers to support shipping schedules, inventory movement, and receiving operations.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area, reporting hazards, damaged product, or faulty equipment immediately.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance and inspections, including cleaning, oiling, recharging, refueling, and reporting repair needs.

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, bend, and climb frequently.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Detail-oriented with strong coordination and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with material handling equipment, RF scanners, SAP, and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
• Commitment to safety and regular and reliable attendance is essential to this job.

Minimum Experience & Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year of warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, or inventory experience preferred.
• Forklift operation experience or equivalent.
• Basic SAP, computer, and RF scanner skills are preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Work environment includes a non-climate-controlled warehouse with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, product irritants, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Occasional work in high places, confined spaces, and moderate to high noise levels (marked by signs).
• This role involves exposure to grains, seeds, nuts, and pepper-based ingredients in an environment where some dust may be present.

Position Information:

• This position pays $17.00 - $21.50 per hour depending on experience.
