Job summary

Harrington Hoists, Inc. seeks a Shipping and Receiving associate to ensure accurate order matching and timely preparation for delivery in our South Holland, IL facility.

The role involves handling shipments, weighing materials, and coordinating with the Production team to maintain records and traceability. Overtime may be required during peak periods, and the candidate should be capable of operating material handling equipment safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
• A minimum of two years of shipping experience preferred.
• UPS software experience desired.
• Must be able to safely operate tow motor and other material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Accurately matches product to be shipped with customer order and verifies order for accuracy.
• Prepares orders for shipment (boxing/skids) ensuring product will not be damaged during transportation.
• Notifies Manager of any discrepancies with customer orders and/or orders that cannot / will not ship.
• Uses overhead crane, tow motor and/or hand truck to load product on vehicles for shipment.
• Weighs all outgoing materials and determines the most economical method to ship.
• Prepare and maintain records of shipments and receipts as required to provide tracking and traceability.
• Ability to work overtime as required, which can be frequent during busy times.
• Keep work area orderly, clean, and safe.
• Must exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.
• Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested by Company Management.

JOB TITLE: SHIPPING AND RECEIVING

Non-Exempt Position

REPORTS TO: Production Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Production

BASIC FUNTION:

Working with little direct supervision, this employee matches product with customer orders and prepares product for delivery. Prepares required bills of lading and ensures all orders are complete and accurate. Records of incoming material are prepared and matched with daily receipts and delivers receipts to a staging area.
