Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is looking for a Shipper/Truck Loader. In this role you will be responsible for loading and unloading goods onto and off of trucks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Physically loading and unloading goods from trucks, ensuring items are handled safely to prevent damage.
  • Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move items within the warehouse or loading area.
  • Tracking and documenting the movement of goods, potentially including scanning and updating inventory counts.
  • Inspecting shipments for accuracy and quality, reporting discrepancies, and ensuring goods are properly secured for transport.
  • Following safety procedures and guidelines, maintaining a safe working environment, and reporting any hazards or defects.
  • Completing necessary paperwork, including delivery notes and inventory records.
  • Collaborating with other warehouse staff and dispatchers to coordinate loading and unloading activities.
  • Performing basic maintenance on equipment and reporting any issues.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

  • Experience working in a warehouse, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of safety protocols and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.

  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
