Job summary

Epsilon-Industries- is seeking a Shipper/Receiver to safely receive, inspect, document, store, and ship materials. This role supports accurate inventory and timely material movement across the manufacturing facility.

The position is fully on-site with a 90-day training period at the Tuscaloosa, Alabama facility. A per diem of $500 per week is provided during training, after which duties move to the Oxford, Alabama site and remain on-site.

Job: Shipper/Receiver

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Job Summary:

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for safely and accurately receiving, inspecting, documenting, storing, staging, and shipping materials, components, equipment, and completed products. This position maintains accurate inventory and shipping records and supports the timely movement of materials throughout the manufacturing facility.

The Shipper/Receiver works closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Production, Project Management, Quality, Accounting, suppliers, and freight carriers.

This is a fully on-site position. The employee will complete a minimum 90-day on-site training period at Epsilon Industries’ Tuscaloosa, Alabama facility and will receive a per diem of $500 per week during the training period. Upon completion of training, the position will transfer to and remain fully on-site at Epsilon Industries’ Oxford, Alabama facility.

Receiving

• Receive incoming materials, components, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Compare deliveries with purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading.
• Verify part numbers, descriptions, quantities, condition, and project information.
• Inspect shipments for visible damage, shortages, overages, or incorrect materials.
• Report discrepancies or damaged materials to Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Quality.
• Coordinate required quality inspections before materials are released.
• Label and move received materials to the proper storage, staging, or production location.
• Maintain clean and organized receiving and quarantine areas.

Shipping

• Prepare materials, equipment, and completed products for shipment.
• Verify outgoing shipments against work orders, packing lists, transfer orders, and shipping instructions.
• Package, wrap, band, label, and secure shipments to prevent damage.
• Prepare packing lists, bills of lading, shipping labels, and other required documents.
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries with freight carriers and internal departments.
• Obtain tracking numbers, delivery confirmations, and proof-of-delivery information.
• Safely load shipments and confirm they are released to the correct carrier.
• Communicate shipping delays, shortages, damage, or other concerns.

Inventory & Material Handling

• Safely move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, overhead cranes, or other approved equipment.
• Store and stage materials in designated locations.
• Pick and issue materials based on approved work orders, transfer requests, or project requirements.
• Maintain accurate material labels, quantities, and storage locations.
• Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations.
• Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
• Identify damaged, excess, obsolete, or improperly stored materials.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse, staging, and shipping areas.

Safety & Equipment

• Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment only when properly trained and authorized.
• Complete required pre‑use equipment inspections.
• Follow safe loading, unloading, lifting, stacking, storage, and load‑securement procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, and maintenance concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Participate in required safety meetings and training.
• Keep aisles, exits, loading areas, and access to safety equipment clear.

General Responsibilities

• Support production and project schedules through accurate and timely material handling.
• Communicate professionally with employees, suppliers, customers, and freight carriers.
• Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
• Work overtime, alternate shifts, or weekends when required by operational needs.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, manufacturing, construction, or material‑handling experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or project-based environment preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, work orders, shipping labels, and inventory records.
• Basic knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory, and material‑handling procedures.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
• Ability to learn and use Genius ERP, scanners, carrier websites, and other company systems.
• Basic mathematical skills for verifying quantities, weights, and dimensions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required forklift or equipment certifications.
• Valid driver’s license may be required based on assigned duties.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Experience using Genius ERP or another inventory‑management system.
• Forklift certification.
• Overhead‑crane or rigging experience.
• Experience preparing bills of lading and coordinating freight shipments.
• Experience with cycle counts and physical inventory.
• Familiarity with freight classifications, shipment weights, dimensions, and load securement.
