Job summary

Dawn Foods is seeking a Shipper/Receiver to support our distribution warehouse operations in Michigan. You will correctly select, palletize, and shrink wrap customer orders for delivery, receive inbound product, stock locations, and safely load trailers, while adhering to food safety and warehouse standards.

Ideal candidates have forklift experience, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and punctual availability for overtime.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, electric rider jacks, pallet wrap machines and lift gates.
• Minimum 6 months related experience or 1 year non-related work experience.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly.
• Must be able to tolerate allergens common in bakery products.
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Select, palletize, and shrink wrap orders for delivery.
• Receive and stock inbound product; rotate and replenish stock.
• Safely load trailers in a productive manner.
• Operate handheld SAP scanning devices for warehouse operations.
• Maintain clean/ safe warehouse environment and follow food-handling procedures.
• Perform related duties as needed and support team Dawn.
• Contribute to Dawn's Circle of Excellence and philosophy.

Shift Schedule:

• Monday - Friday: 6:30 am - 4:00 pm (or until finished)
• Overtime and Weekends required based on business needs.

Job Purpose and Overview

As a Shipper/Receiver you will participate in the distribution warehouse activities related to receiving, storing, selecting, shipping, dispatching, and delivery of products to ensure effective and efficient warehouse operations and product transportation.

What Does It Take to be a Shipper/Receiver at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.

• Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, electric rider jacks, electric pallet jacks, trailer lift gates and pallet wrap machines
• Minimum 6 months of related experience or 1 full year non-related employment experience
• Must be able to lift 50+ pound repeatedly
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, and soy.
• Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures
• Available to work overtime as required

What will you do as a Shipper/Receiverat Dawn Foods?

• Correctly select, palletize, and shrink wrap customers' orders preparing them for delivery.
• Receive and stock inbound product in its designated locations. Rotate and replenish current stock in its designated locations.
• Safely load trailers in an even and productive fashion
• Ability to understand and operate handheld computer and scanning devices for SAP that is used for all aspects of warehouse operations
• Maintain cleanliness of entire warehouse and practice safe food handling procedures
• Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein
• Support the Circle of Excellence and the Dawn Philosophy of Team Dawn
