Responsibilities
- Prepares and receives shipments, including all required documentation for compliance to US DOT regulations and international shipments.
- Performs all job assignments in a safe manner according to Airgas SOPs.
- Verifies results from lab and provides certifications.
- Determines shipping methods.
- Handles international shipments (IMDG, IATA, and Airgas Export Compliances).
- Matches work orders to the appropriate delivery ticket generated.
- Maintains Shipping Supplies.
- Creates deliveries that don't automatically create in SAP.
- Creates Bills Of Lading using AFS site.
- Receives STO's.
- Scrapes, labels, and paints cylinders.
- Moves cylinders using a cylinder cart and/or forklift.
- Loads and unloads trucks.
- Matches up receiving returns with common carrier paperwork.
- Ensures all documentation matches cylinders.
- Ensures cylinders go out in a neat and presentable condition.
- Sorts cylinders.
- Basic knowledge of CFR 49.
- Keeps a clean and orderly work area.
- Understands Special permits.
- Basic computer operations for data entry and training.
- Utilizes basic calculations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Ability to coordinate efforts with multiple departments.
- Aptitude for high precision work.
- Ability to be certified to do all paperwork for Domestic, IMDG, and IATA.
- Ability to achieve HM 126 qualification.
- Ability to operate forklift and maintain forklift certifications.
- Ability to follow directions, make decisions, work in a team, and be reliable.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum 1 year experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) or equivalent software.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions.
