Role: Shipper/Receiver

Job Summary: One of the key roles of the Shipper/Receiver is to assure safe loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products. Must be committed to safe forklift operation and have the ability to work from a pick list.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit‑down forklift while maintaining a valid forklift certification.
• Be comfortable working outside in the elements.
• Communicate with drivers to ensure accurate loads and compliance with safety requirements for loading/unloading.
• Identify locations of materials from the pick list, whether in the yard or warehouse.
• Locate products in the yard using identifying signs.
• Use the FIFO system correctly to pull pallets for loading.
• Guide truck drivers to the correct loading/unloading areas for safety.
• Be willing to learn additional shipping and scale house duties.
• Understand railcar unloading processes, Trackmobile operation, and railroad safety.
• Adhere to all IKO safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Pass a forklift certification class and test.
• Read and interpret a pick list.
• Work overtime as necessary, which may include weekends.
• Pass a fit‑for‑duty physical assessment.
• Lift up to 76 lbs. unassisted.
