Job summary

Williams-Sonoma, Inc. in Sarasota, FL seeks a full-time Stockroom/Customer Service Associate to support merchandise flow, inventory accuracy, and store operations.

You will assist with shipments, stock-to-floor transfers, tagging, stocking, and maintaining a clean stockroom while delivering superior customer service on the sales floor. Flexible shifts and weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years stockroom experience.
• 1–2 years customer service experience.
• Basic product knowledge preferred.
• Effective planning and time management skills.
• Valid driver’s license where applicable.
• Ability to lift/move up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
• Assist management in planning for receipt of shipments to determine cost-effective receipt and staffing needs.
• Process shipments as delivered and maintain inventory records.
• Direct merchandise flow from stock room to sales floor.
• Ticket and stock merchandise in stock room or prepare for distribution to the sales floor.
• Organize stockroom departments and ensure aisles/exits are clear per company standards.
• Process inventory paperwork including transfers, logs, discrepancies, damaged merchandise, and returns.
• Maintain accurate records of merchandise stored at off-site locations.
• Process donations and MOS merchandise timely, pack and log shipments.
• Keep stockroom clean, swept, and organized.

• Assist management in planning for receipt of shipments to determine cost-effective receipt and any additional staffing needs

• Process shipments as delivered. Ensure inventory records are properly maintained

• Direct merchandise flow from stock room to sales floor

• Ticket and stock merchandise in the stock room or prepare for immediate distribution to the sales floor

• Organize stockroom departments by stocking merchandise and supplies on appropriate shelves or in off site locations. Adjust stocking procedures to ensure aisles and exits are clear and merchandise is stored per Company standards.

• Process inventory paperwork, including store-to-store transfers, receiving logs, e-sends, receiving discrepancies, damaged merchandise, and returns.

• Maintain an accurate record of merchandise stored at the off-site locations

• Execute timely processing of donations and MOS merchandise

• Pack and log merchandise as required for shipments

• Ensure stockroom is swept and clean with garbage removed and supplies organized

• Complete tasks listed on daily agenda or as assigned (i.e., maintenance of store, lighting, cleaning)

• May supervise and train stock associates

• Assist on sales floor as needed

• Comply with all Company Policy and Procedures

• Ensure all appropriate stockroom procedures are followed to minimize loss to the company

• Basic product knowledge preferred.

• Effective planning and time management skills to execute multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Valid driver’s license (where applicable)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.

• Ability to operate POS system.

• Ability to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 75 pounds, while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques

• Full time associates are expected to have open availability to meet the needs of the business.

• Part-Time Flex associates must be available to work a minimum of two regularly scheduled shifts on the weekend** (Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday) and two during the week (Monday to Thursday). For an associate to be scheduled 20 hours or more weekly, greater availability (beyond the minimum required above) that meets the needs of the business will be required. **Weekend availability cannot fall on the same day; an associate must be available on two separate days (Friday and Saturday, Friday and Sunday or Saturday and Sunday).
