Job summary

Alpha Baking Company, Inc. is hiring for a 3rd shift shipping associate in Michigan. Schedule: Sunday–Thursday 11:00pm–7:30am, with possible Friday night work.

Pay is $21.25 per hour with overtime after 40 hours. You will perform forklift inspections, prepare bills of lading, and manage shipment documentation while coordinating with truck drivers. Candidates should be able to work in freezer temperatures, perform basic math, use Microsoft Office, and follow safety and food safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six (6) months food manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete forklift inspection daily and document results.
• Complete product setting paperwork daily.
• Report discrepancies on shipment quantities or descriptions.
• Prepare bills of lading for shipments.
• Maintain proper product rotation.
• Communicate effectively with truck drivers.
• Set orders prior to pick up date.
• Accurately complete truck mapping during shipment.

• Report safety incidents to supervisor/management immediately.
• Report food safety concerns to supervisor/management immediately.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist other departments as needed.
• Participate in plant audit and inspection preparation.
• Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly, up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Be able to push or pull up to 200 pounds on wheeled equipment.
• Be able to perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, reaching.
• Be able to stand for majority of shift.
• Be able to read/write English.
• Be able to work in high ambient temperatures.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
