Job summary

Alpha Baking Company in Indiana is seeking an entry-level sanitation associate to clean and sanitize production equipment and the plant environment. You will follow safe methods and practices while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities include operating a floor scrubber, cleaning ovens and mixers, tidying restrooms and break areas, and supporting housekeeping duties as needed. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work weekends or overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Entry level position with on-the-job training.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of sanitation master schedule
• Clean and sanitize production line operating equipment (ovens, mixers, etc.)
• Clean and sanitize baking equipment including bins, trays, etc.
• Operate floor scrubber to clean concrete flooring
• Sweep and mop work areas
• Perform housekeeping duties including, restrooms, lunchroom, offices, conference room, etc.
• Discard all corrugated, inedible food and other packing material

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge of pest control
• Operate a trash compactor
• Read a weight scale
• Operate a baler
• Knowledge of production line operating equipment
• Knowledge of equipment assembly
• Knowledge of chemicals, chemical color coding system and chemical handling
• Knowledge of how to read MSDS
• Work weekends or overtime as assigned
• Commit to a continuous improvement work team environment.
• Other duties and/or projects assigned.
