Job summary

POLYVANTIS in Sanford, ME seeks a Material Service Shipper Receiver to transfer material from production to storage, load customer orders, and receive inbound freight. You will ensure safety, compliance with SOPs, issue work orders and permits, and support department managers.

You will work with SAP and MS Office, maintain labeling accuracy, perform cycle counts, drive the shuttle truck when needed, and uphold safety, quality and housekeeping standards. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

  • Must work with minimal supervision.

  • Valid industrial vehicle operator's license.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transfer material from production to storage or processing.
  • Load and unload customer orders and inbound freight.

  • Verify incoming receipts and quantities against BOL paperwork.

JOB SUMMARY

The Material Service Shipper Receiver’s primary responsibility is the safetransfer of material from Giebel Building production to building one for storage or additional processing, loading of customer orders, and the receipt of all inbound freight. Maintain department compliance with all company policies and procedures, accident and spill reporting, issuing work orders, safe work permits and lockout/tagout when necessary. MSSR will work with the Department Manager to identify any personnel, procedural or mechanical conditions impacting the department, recommend and help implementsolutions.

  • Prioritize daily work.
  • Deal with other departments and external requests.
  • Expedite material as required.
  • Communicate/confer with Manager as required to keep Manager informed and achieve department goals.
  • Report all incidents per Sanford Plant Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Ensure all personnel within the Department are wearing proper PPE.
  • Work with Department manager to ensure equipment and process perform at maximum efficiency to achieve optimum throughput safely and accurately.
  • Complete at least one ESP review per quarter.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and orderly manner, according to SOPs. Correctly use all safety equipment when applicable. Adhere to all safety requirements according to the Sanford Plant Safety Standards.
  • Ensure the area (racks, industrial vehicle equipment, raw material) is in safe condition and/or stored properly.
  • Performs all work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure accurate product labeling for inbound and outbound goods.
  • Properly segregate and label non-conforming materials.
  • Report any quality concerns to management when applicable.
  • Ensure proper disposition of returned materials as well as accurate recording.
  • Keep fire lanes/hoses accessible.
  • Ensure all materials are properly put away in the warehouse, follow all safety guidelines to ensure products are stowed correctly.
  • Cycle count FG’s as outlined by Department Manager (must be able to print SAP inventory reports without supervision). Participate in physical inventory counts as required.
  • Put away/store raw materials used in production.
  • Load/unload trailers when necessary (Includes but not limited to outbound shipments & inbound receipts)
  • Verify all incoming receipts, confirm description & quantities are correct and sign the receipt. Note any discrepancies or damage on the delivery receipt.
  • Verify the quantity of items loaded equals the BOL paperwork and bring any discrepancies to the planner’s attention.
  • Load scrap trailers as needed. (3-5 times/month)
  • Load Scrap cardboard / Poly bale trailers as required
  • Prepare IPM shipments out of Giebel as necessary
  • Must be able to drive the shuttle truck.
  • Inspect storage trailers when required.
  • Perform weekly TPM tasks in accordance with TPM program
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Department Manager
Safety
  • Carry out work activities safely according to JSAs or SOPs where they are available. Use correctsafety equipment. Comply with the specifics of our overall safety program.
  • Observe safety environment in which you work to offer constructive criticism toward correction of unsafe practices on the part of your fellow workers, unsafe operating conditions, and unsafe equipment.
Quality
  • Responsible for the quality of shift output, both physical quality and quality of work.
Housekeeping

Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping on shift.

Major Challenges
  • Daily incoming and outgoing of all rawmaterials must be safely and properly handled.
  • Daily material movement from Giebel production to building one must be safely performed and accurately recorded in SAP.
  • Prioritizing the daily workload
Knowledge and Skill Required
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Decide how best to plan daily workflow depending on volume.
  • Organizational skills to ensure accuracy in labeling, loading, and storing materials
  • Maintain a valid industrial vehicle operator's license.
  • Possess high school education or equivalent.
  • Person can be trained to achieve 90% competency in less than 12 months.
  • Computer knowledge (primarily SAP & Microsoft Office)
  • Must have a working knowledge of raw material / finished product specifications.
