Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
At least 36 months of professional shipfitting or structural fitting experience.
Ability to teach a range of structural fitting and shipfitting courses.
Strong knowledge of safe shop practices, fitting procedures and tools.
Effective instructional, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Teach credit and non-credit shipfitting and structural fitting courses.
Deliver practical, industry-aligned instruction in fitting procedures and blueprint interpretation.
Train students on safe use, care, storage, and housekeeping of tools and equipment.
Inspect and evaluate fitting work for quality and standards compliance.
Develop course syllabi, activities, assessments, and materials aligned with curriculum.
