Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or vocational shipfitting training preferred.
• Minimum 8 years shipfitting experience with leadership/supervisory responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of shipfitting practices, blueprints, and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Shipfitting Department, providing leadership and guidance.
• Supervise shipfitting personnel to maximize productivity, quality, and safety.
• Coordinate work assignments and schedules to meet project milestones.
• Collaborate with other trades, production staff, and subcontractors for staffing and workflow.
• Coach and mentor shipfitting staff; perform Lead Person duties as needed.
• Review timecards and ensure labor is charged to correct accounts.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and quality standards.
• Resolve day-to-day production and personnel issues to maintain efficiency.
• Attend production meetings when needed and support continuous improvement initiatives.
