Job summary

Delphinus is seeking a Shipfitter in Chula Vista, CA to layout, fabricate and install structural parts such as plates, bulkheads and frames. You will brace structures for welding and prepare templates for nonstandard parts.

Responsibilities include fabrication of templates, measurements, layouts, pre/post weld checks, and general site housekeeping. The role may require travel to other locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year(s) of shipfitting experience.
• Apprentice school or trade school preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate templates for bending ship structures, frames, bulkheads and braces.
• Assist with measurements, layout and cutting of templates.
• Perform pre- and post-weld checks.
• Chip, bevel, grind and clean surfaces to be welded.
