Snow & Company in Seattle is seeking a skilled Shipfitter to contribute to major shipbuilding and repair projects. The role requires interpreting blueprints, cutting and fitting metal, tack welding, and assembling hull components in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with a team in a dynamic yard, maintain safety, and ensure high-quality workmanship. The position offers competitive hourly pay, full-time status, and a relocation package to support moving to Seattle.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional shipfitting experience.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at odd angles.
• Knowledge of marine welding.
• Ability to learn shipyard equipment quickly.
• Read and understand manuals and manufacturer's sites.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Effective communication and punctual attendance.
• Able to work independently or with a team.
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, drawings, layouts and welding symbols.
• Cut and fit metal plates and beams with torches and grinders.
• Tack weld and fit structural components.
• Align hull structures with jacks, wedges and chain falls.
• Tac weld and reinforce joints to standard.
• Inspect assemblies for accuracy and integrity.
• Move parts into position with hoists or cranes.
• Operate fabricating machines to bend, cut, punch or drill.
• Measure and fit components for foundations and structures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
