Job summary

St. Johns Ship Building, Inc. seeks a Project Manager – Government Programs to plan, execute, and deliver government-funded shipbuilding and repair projects in a shipyard setting.

You will serve as the primary liaison between SJSB, government agencies, and subcontractors, coordinating cross-functional teams to meet schedules and budgets. The role requires strong leadership, risk management, and contract compliance expertise, plus experience with ERP and project-tracking tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Business, PM or related field.
• 5–10+ years of project management in shipbuilding, marine, or heavy industrial environments.
• Experience managing government contracts (DoD/NAVSEA preferred).
• Certifications such as PMP are preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of government programs from award through delivery.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Monitor progress and ensure adherence to timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, DoD, and NAVSEA contract requirements and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Coordinate with Contracts, Quality, and Compliance teams.
