Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat seeks a Chief Test Engineer to oversee STO test sequencing for a Virginia Class hull from Groton, CT. You will direct HM&E/S&E testing, coordinate with Ships Management, Naval Reactors, vendors and trades, and ensure test quality and compliance.

Responsibilities include leading a 1-4 Assistant Chief Test Engineers team, 2-8 Test Supervisors, and 15-40 hourly technicians; maintaining ship conditions and safety; and qualifying as Non-Nuclear Shift Test Engineer with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 6+ years in trades, testing, or naval environments.
• At least 3 years supervising teams in trades, testing, or Navy.
• Preferred: BS in Electrical/Mechanical Eng or Business; naval nuclear propulsion; ACTE/Foreman; PM experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 1-4 Assistant Chief Test Engineers, 2-8 Test Supervisors, and 15-40 hourly technicians.
• Coordinate HM&E/S&EP testing per the STO Playbook and shipyard procedures.
• Direct testing operations and control temporary shipboard systems and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with all procedures, SSP, and work control rules.
• Maintain qualification as Non-Nuclear Shift Test Engineer (premium).
