Job summary

Noblis in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Shipboard Systems Engineer/Technical Operations to support DDG HM&E upgrades and shipboard testing. The role focuses on lifecycle support, system design, installation, and verification of Machinery Control Systems on USS Arleigh Burke-class destroyers.

On-site work, with a strong emphasis on electrical/systems engineering, diagnostic testing, and collaboration with the shipboard team and back in Philadelphia.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 0 years of experience or Associates with 3 years of experience or High School diploma with 6+ years military/professional experience
  • US Citizen and ability to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Experience troubleshooting control systems with documentation and schematics
  • Experience with electrical testing tools and hardware installation on fielded systems
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule to meet priorities

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot control systems using documentation and schematics
  • Provide test support for all fielded system variants
  • Provide shipboard software and hardware installation support
  • Provide regular status updates
  • Liaise between shipboard test team and back-office technical leads
  • Aid in test procedure development and implementation
  • Review technical documentation for fielded and future systems
  • Contribute engineering input to future MCS designs
