Job summary

Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a non-clinical trainer to collaborate with the Deployed Resiliency Counselor and command leadership to coordinate integrated primary prevention programs. The role embeds within a shipboard environment and includes a 40% pay differential when deployed.

The incumbent will lead prevention activities, deliver a wide range of educational programs, and support FFSC training across WFL, CAP, NGS, and SAPR training needs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of evidenced-based prevention programs.
• Experience implementing prevention programs to prevent destructive behaviors.
• Ability to collaborate to implement integrated prevention programs.
• Ability to identify and evaluate prevention methodologies.
• Knowledge of military culture and shipboard dynamics.
• Understanding of stresses from prolonged separations on mission readiness.

Responsibilities

• Establishes prevention activities at command and unit level with goals and milestones.
• Identify risk factors with leadership and propose preventive measures.
• Participate in prevention-based research when appropriate.
• Coordinate actions across programs to meet completion dates.
• Develop population-based and targeted prevention efforts.
• Deliver training and education to build prevention capacity.
• Provide FFSC training and shipboard briefings as needed.
• Deliver Departure/Separation and Return & Reunion workshops when deployed.
