Position located in Jacksonville, Florida, with duty assignments aboard ships in Guam, Saipan, or Diego Garcia.

Program Summary

The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based on Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy. We are seeking a Shipboard Mechanic (Motor Transport).

Job Summary

Maintains, services, inspects, and repairs combustion-powered automotive vehicles, over-the-road trucks, and comparable vehicles such as light combat vehicles and trucks, along with other motor transport equipment. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Preferably, a certificate from a vocational school or recognized source with a major in electrical or automotive repair; equivalent experience or college credits may be considered.
  • At least 5 years of directly related work experience.
  • Completion of basic automotive mechanics, automotive organizational maintenance, and intermediate maintenance courses, or equivalents.
  • Completion of advanced motor transport maintenance courses.
  • Valid passport and State Motor Vehicle Operator License.
  • Ability to adhere to established methods, quality standards, and schedules.
  • U.S. Citizenship, ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and Base Access, and Secret Clearance.
