Job summary
Insight Global seeks a Shipboard Fiber Optics Technician to support cable installation and modernization projects aboard Navy and maritime vessels. You will perform hands-on shipboard work including pulling, routing, terminating, and securing fiber optic and copper cabling, building connectors, and supporting electrical and communications system upgrades.
Candidates will receive specialized fiber optic training and work alongside experienced technicians to become fully qualified in turnkey fiber
Qualifications
- Must have 3+ years of shipboard electrical experience.
- Experience pulling, routing, and installing cable aboard ships.
- Able to perform hands-on physical work in industrial/maritime environments.
- Willing to obtain fiber optic certifications and complete technical training.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on shipboard work including pulling, routing, terminating, and securing fiber optic and copper cabling.
- Build connectors and support electrical and communications system upgrades.
- Receive specialized fiber optic training and work with experienced technicians to become fully qualified in turnkey fiber optic installations.
- Travel to customer sites nationwide in support of ongoing projects.
