Job summary
KBR in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking a Shipboard Engineer (Construction) Equipment Mechanic to perform high level preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered equipment aboard ships as part of the MCPP program. The role includes mentoring lower level mechanics and supporting higher level teams in a dynamic, on-site environment.
The position requires 4+ years of related experience, trade certifications, and the ability to obtain necessary clearances and travel as needed.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 4 years of directly related work experience.
- Complete the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course, or equivalent.
- Complete the Engineer Equipment Chief Course, or equivalent.
- Must maintain a valid passport and driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and obtain security clearances.
Responsibilities
- Performs high level preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel engines and construction equipment.
- Provides technical assistance and training to lower level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics.
- Performs other tasks as reasonably assigned.
