Job summary

You will perform troubleshooting, tests, and electrical work on ships, read drawings, and maintain engineering data records while adhering to safety and security requirements, including DoD clearance and OSHA training. The role may require lifting, climbing, and travel up to 10% to various sites, including Newport News.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• Background check and drug screening required for access to shipyards.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Respirator qualification and PPE use throughout shift.
• Experience in electrical work on ships or related environments.
• Two years of combined experience in electrical/QA/test tasks.
• Competency with fiber optic, RJ-45 and DB connectors.
• Reading drawings to Tradesman/apprentice level.
• Contribute to safety programs and QA documentation.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and to Newport News, VA.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
• Test and modify setups; operate standard test equipment and record data.
• Perform electrical work on ships, boats, and marine equipment.
• Gather and maintain engineering data records and perform basic data analysis.
• Conduct routine tests and measurements; document results.
