Job summary

The Deck Engineer Machinist role is a Civil Service Mariner (CIVMAR) employed by the Navy to support the Military Sealift Command (MSC) aboard naval auxiliaries and hybrid-manned warships worldwide.

The incumbent maintains, repairs and operates deck machinery and UNREP systems, with proficiency in shipboard machine shop tools and welding. Required certifications include US citizenship, TWIC/CAC, MMC and RFPEW Able Seafarer Engine.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required.
• TWIC and/or DoD CAC with ample remaining validity.
• USCG MMC with ample remaining validity.
• USCG Medical Certificate without limitations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and operate deck machinery, UNREP machinery and material handling equipment.
• Inspect and QA work performed by shore side personnel.
• Participate in drills and safety procedures as required.
