Job summary

The First Assistant Engineer (CIVMAR) with MSC serves on naval auxiliaries and hybrid-manned warships worldwide, in peace and war. Responsible for engine department machinery operation, maintenance, and proper use of SAMM and related programs.

Requires USCG license, STCW endorsements, and QMED certification, with credentials valid for at least seven months. MSC conducts continuous operations with periodic duty cycles; candidates must meet eligibility and background requirements and be prepared

Qualifications

• USCG license required for First Assistant Engineer or higher.
• STCW with III-1 to III-5 endorsements and QMED rating.
• MMC valid with remaining expiration date and TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and preserve engine department machinery and equipment.
• Apply MSC SAMM program, lubrication, water treatment, and safety procedures.
• Perform emergency duties and drills; ensure clean and safe spaces under engine dept.
