Job summary

Actalent seeks a Software Engineer to support Navy machinery control systems on LHA/LHD ships. You will develop and maintain mission-critical software, with training provided, in a secure, regulated environment.

The role is contract-to-hire, fully onsite in Philadelphia, PA, offering exposure to defense programs, Jira/Confluence tooling, and potential for DoD clearance. Candidates with 2–5 years of experience and a CS/CE/EE background are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• 2–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with C# or similar high-level languages.
• Ability to obtain Interim DoD Secret Clearance or hold DoD Secret Clearance.
• Experience in Windows and/or Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and maintain Navy shipboard control software.
• Fix bugs and enhance software using Jira/Confluence.
• Integrate software with shipboard hardware and I/O sensors.
• Work with VME or PLC-type control environments.
• Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Support shipboard testing and software installations.
