Job summary

Avail Staffing seeks an AAMP Certified Spray Painter/Blaster Technician to join our team in Norfolk, VA. The role emphasizes applying epoxy and enamel coatings to marine surfaces per specifications and NAVSEA standards.

Candidates must hold SSPC certifications (C12/C14) and OSHA-10 Maritime training, read technical specs, and perform tasks safely in confined spaces with minimal supervision. Two years of shipboard experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficient in mixing and applying epoxy and enamel paints per specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret job specifications to ensure proper completion of tasks.
• Capable of completing tasks within specified timeframes without on-site supervision.
• Understanding of paint induction times and spray painting processes.
• Knowledge of NAVSEA data sheets and SSPC standards.

Responsibilities

• Mix and apply epoxy/enamel coatings to marine surfaces.
• Read and interpret specifications to ensure correct task completion.
• Complete tasks within set timeframes with minimal supervision.
• Operate power tools for surface prep and paint removal.
• Follow NAVSEA 718 and SSPC standards for surface prep and coatings.
