Associated Terminals, LLC is seeking a Ship's Gear Crane Operator in Chalmette, LA to operate and maintain ship’s gear cranes for safe cargo transloading. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to company policies in a fast-paced maritime environment.

The position requires operating friction and hydraulic cranes with a focus on load safety, risk assessment, and proper maintenance. Training is provided; PPE and a structured work schedule are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years crane operating experience in maritime/industrial/warehousing environments.
• Physical ability to perform all essential job functions.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain assigned ship’s gear cranes to support cargo handling operations.
• Ensure the safety of team members on ships and in the warehouse during all crane activities.
• Perform lifts as required and provide guidance to assigned crew members.
• Conduct pre-job inspections and perform periodic maintenance on cranes to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Monitor load hookup and assess load safety before and during lifts.
• Promptly report any unsafe operations or behaviors to the production manager.
• Support company safety initiatives and adhere to all operational directives and company policies.

• Operate and maintain assigned ship’s gear cranes to support cargo handling operations.

• At least 40 hours of seat time in all assigned equipment.
• Proficiency in equipment and terminal operations.
• Physical ability to safely perform all essential job functions.
• Strong commitment to teamwork and customer service.
• Must possess a valid TWIC Card.
