Job Description

Responsibilities may include manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties, potentially working out of a central warehouse. Uses computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting. Follows shipping practices, procedures, transportation routing, schedules, and requirements. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Handles packing/unpacking and wrapping of items such as finished products, raw materials, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, and equipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials, logs receipt of items, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents, reports shipped materials, bills of lading, posts weights, shipping charges, and routes merchandise to destinations.

Production Support Career Stream: Provides support in manufacturing operations and/or distribution centers including assembly, machinery, processing, packaging, and distribution of products. May set up and operate automatic or semi-automatic machines, report malfunctions, and assist with adjustments. Involved in shipping, receiving, inventory control, or storage of products in distribution centers.
