Job summary

Hutco, Inc. in Houma, LA is seeking 1st Class Ship Fitters with shipyard experience to join our team. You will perform layout, fabrication, installation, testing and repair of pipe systems, and you will work from blueprints and sketches prepared for fabrication.

Candidates must have at least 3 years in shipyards, pass a hands-on skills test, and pass drug test with E-Verify. PPE includes hard hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses and gloves.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of shipyard experience required.
• Must pass hands-on skills test.
• Must pass drug test and E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Performs layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and repair of pipe systems.
• Reads blueprints and creates fabrication sketches.
• Operates tools and equipment necessary for ship fitting.
• Work in confined spaces, on docks, and at heights up to 30 feet.
• Lifts and maneuvers loads up to 50 pounds (75 pounds occasionally).
