Overview: Ship Clerks play a crucial role in the Middle Mile network, responsible for managing daily department duties such as load planning, load flow control, and trailer utilization. They coordinate with internal and external partners, ensure safety and efficiency, and support operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Communicate with multiple shipping companies and track packages using various software tools.
  2. Coordinate trailer movements and dock door assignments.
  3. Troubleshoot shipping issues to resolution, maximizing trailer utilization and on-time performance.
  4. Assist in resource allocation, load level tracking, and maintaining SOP compliance.
  5. Participate in safety initiatives, identify hazards, and report safety violations.
  6. Support training and performance tracking of associates.
  7. Perform production duties as needed and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for up to 12 hours, and perform physical tasks.
  • Work 40 hours/week with overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training, teaching, or presentation experience.
  • Willingness to work different shifts and areas as needed.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
