Job summary

Louisiana-Pacific Corporation in Roxboro, NC is seeking a Shift Utility to provide general relief in support of line positions, under daily direction. This onsite role offers hands-on utility duties and opportunities to contribute to safe plant operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred) and at least 3 months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• Must be able to manage time effectively and follow daily directions.
• Familiarity with line position duties and utilities in a plant.
• Understanding of general clean-up tasks and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide general relief in support of line positions during breaks as assigned.
• Perform general clean-up and utility duties (sweeping, painting, equipment cleaning, etc.).
• Perform other duties as necessary.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations at all times.

Job Purpose

To provide general relief in support of line positions, under daily direction.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide general relief in support of line positions during breaks as assigned.
• Perform general clean-up and utility duties under daily direction from supervisor, including sweeping floors, cutting/moving lawns, picking up trash, painting, cleaning equipment, etc.
• Perform other duties as necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.

What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Time management skills.
• Knowledge of line position duties and functions.
• Knowledge of general plant clean-up and utility functions.
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

• 3 months experience required.
• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
