Job summary

Carlisle Construction Materials LLC (CCM) is hiring Production Operators in Carlisle, PA. You will operate various production equipment, support material handling, and help maintain continuous production flow in a tight tolerance environment.

Compensation starts at $27.21/hr with potential increases to $30.48/hr after 6 months, plus shift differentials on 2nd and 3rd shifts. Qualified candidates typically have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery to maximize output of quality product.
• Retrieve and move raw material into place as required.
• Maintain proper flow of materials throughout the plant.
• Provide coverage for a variety of manufacturing processes/equipment.
• Assist with breaks and lunch coverage as needed.
• Follow production schedules, instructions and procedures.
• Detect and report faulty operations or materials.
• Observe all safety regulations.
• Keep counts, tallies and records as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in continuous improvement processes.

Carlisle Construction Materials is now hiring Production Operators to join our team in Carlisle, PA.

In this position, you will operate various types of production equipment. We will train dependable individuals with a desire to work as a part of a team in a successful and growing manufacturing company.

Compensation

$27.21/hr to start, then receive an increase to $30.48/hr after 6 months

$1.00 shift differential per hour while working 3rd shift

$1.50 shift differential per hour while working 2nd shift

Schedule

• Rotating 1st/2nd shift
  • 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
  • 3:00pm - 11:30pm, Monday - Friday
• 3rd shift: 11:00pm - 7:30am, Sunday - Thursday nights

• Availability for overtime may be required, based on business needs

Job Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery to maximize output of quality product.

• Perform a variety of tasks to maintain the proper flow of materials throughout the plant.
• Provide coverage for a variety of manufacturing processes/equipment.
• Provide brief relief when applicable for breaks and lunch.
• Follow production schedules, oral and published job instructions, specifications and prescribed procedures.
• Detect, rectify as able, and report faulty operations, defective materials, or unusual conditions.
• Observe prescribed safety regulations.
• Keep count, tallies and records as required.
• Perform various other related or associated duties as required or directed.
• Participate in continuous improvement processes.
• Other production duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Activities occur inside a rubber manufacturing facility. Job conditions include, but are not limited to, exposure to the following:

• Potential for temperatures exceeding 100°F during the summer
• Airborne mica dust
• Pinch hazards from moving mechanical parts
• Possible burns from hot mandrels
• Heavy equipment operation including forklift, bridge crane, hoist, gantry crane, tow motor, etc.
• Use of knives during mixing, pre/post cure processes, straining, etc.

Physical Requirements

Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:

• Climbing up and down steps to get to several pieces of equipment
• Balancing when climbing in and around several pieces of equipment
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching while operating several pieces of equipmentReaching to thread sheeting, pull rubber off mills, service and guide mandrels, etc.
• Standing while operating equipment, inspecting sheeting, straining
• Walking throughout the plant
• Pushing and pulling sheeting, finished rolls, mandrels, buttons, etc.
• Lifting sheeting (straining, whale tails, pigs of defective/rework materials, rolls, etc.), skids
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Grasping knives on mills and pre/post cure stands, sheeting, tools, etc.
• Talking - communicating with team members, using telephone and intercom
• Hearing - use of telephone and intercom, communicating with team members, listening to equipment for faulty operation
• Sight - recognize hazards, warnings, visually inspect defects, read displays, operate mills
