Job summary

Corning is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in Alabama to diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control issues in production equipment. You will work with cross-functional teams to support safe, reliable performance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, coordinating with maintenance and engineering, and ensuring adherence to safety and SOPs. 12-hour shifts are available; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or controls technology preferred; or high school diploma with 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and pneumatic controls, including the use of appropriate test equipment.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment ranging from simple to complex.
• Working knowledge of sensors, thermocouples, switches, motors, and actuators.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and machine specifications.
• Strong decision-making and prioritization skills.
• Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency with standard Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting for production equipment.
• Coordinate with maintenance and engineering to resolve issues beyond first level troubleshooting.
• Monitor area performance, identify equipment and process issues, and resolve promptly.
• Support preventive maintenance activities and equipment upkeep initiatives.
• Communicate updates and provide guidance to production teams on processes and SOPs.
• Promote a safe work environment and adherence to housekeeping standards and safety requirements.
