Job Description
Allied Universal is hiring a Shift Supervisor - Unarmed. The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the security of a high profile client’s facility, property, and surrounding campus for a designated shift. The Shift Supervisor performs general security duties as directed in the protection of persons and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations, as specified in post orders, and will deter criminal activity and misconduct.

- Compensation: USD $22.80/hour
- Employment Type: Temporary/Part-Time
- Location: University of Chicago Hyde Park
- Shifts Available: Afternoon, Evening, Morning, Overnight
- Workdays Available: Monday – Sunday
Additional Job Details
- Must have a Valid Driver's License
- 1 year of security supervisory experience
Responsibilities
- Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
- Provide direction and instruction to subordinates regarding the performance of their duties
- Cross-train officers to make them more versatile and run site efficiently
- Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
- Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders
- Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under their direct supervision
- Oversee staffing, scheduling and on-site training for security officers assigned to their shift
- Ensure that contract required training and screening elements for security personnel have been met
- Maintain overtime to minimum or to a predefined level designated by Allied Universal
- Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel and their job performance when assigned to their shift
- Perform other operations and related functions (e.g., payroll, incident reports, security surveys, post orders)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- Current and valid driver’s license
- Must possess one or more of the following:
- Associate’s degree or higher in any discipline
- Service in active-duty military, military reserves, or National Guard
- Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
- Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience
- Minimum of two years of verifiable work experience demonstrating:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to maintain poise and self-control during emergencies
- Understanding and applying written and verbal orders, and composing reports
- Effective communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Planning, organizing, problem-solving, coaching, mentoring, active listening, and teamwork skills
- Ability to assess situations, synthesize facts, and investigate
- Conflict mediation skills
- Goal setting and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Emergency Management Systems FEMA Incident Command Certification; ICO 100, 200, 300
- Knowledge of EMS protocols, Medical First Responder, or Emergency Medical Technician
