Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to gain the necessary skills, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

• Apply deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
• Communicate effectively with management and staff.
• Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Management Responsibilities

• Supervise store staff, assign tasks, and follow up on activities.
• Coordinate communication between management and staff.

Customer Service Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions, issues, and complaints.
• Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, helping, and thanking customers.
• Handle customer relations per company policy, maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail (preferred).
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Anticipated weekly hours: 29

Employment type: Part-time

Pay Range: $16.24 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and location.
