Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs work as directed to gain the skills necessary for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for consideration for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the CVS Store Management team in driving store execution and performance, while building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and is responsible for completing all opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and store crews.
    • Supervise the store's crew by assigning, directing, and following up on all activities.
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
    • Promote CVS's customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
    • Maintain customer/patient confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 40
  • Time type: Full time
  • Pay range: $16.25 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, location, and other factors.
