Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, learns about key business aspects (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service), and understands CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of training, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management in driving store performance and customer loyalty, especially when no manager is onsite, with responsibilities including leading store staff, ensuring smooth operations, and completing opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
3. Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and following up on tasks.
4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
5. Customer Service
6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
7. Promote CVS customer service culture: greet, offer help, thank customers.
8. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
9. Maintain customer confidentiality.

Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical and computer skills, advanced communication skills, flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Hours: 40 hours/week

Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
