Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to gain the skills necessary for future supervisory responsibilities, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees are eligible for consideration for promotion to open Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the CVS Store Management team by driving store execution and performance, and by building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the Operations or Shift Supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth store operations, and oversees all opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

  3. Promote CVS's customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers
  4. Handle customer relations issues according to company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience
  5. Maintain customer/patient confidentiality
Required Qualifications

Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer proficiency. Strong communication skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $16.00 - $24.00 per hour. Actual salary depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
