Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs designated work to gain experience, completes basic management skills training, and learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service and understanding CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions. These leadership roles support store management by driving store performance, ensuring smooth operations, and fostering excellent customer service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads the staff and oversees store opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions

1. Management
2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
3. Supervise store crew activities, including assigning and following up on tasks.
4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.

2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
3. Promote CVS's customer service culture by greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience.
5. Maintain customer confidentiality.

Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

• Weekly Hours: 20
• Time Type: Part-time
• Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
