Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned tasks to develop management skills, learns about key business aspects like building customer loyalty through exceptional service, and familiarizes with CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful training completion, trainees are considered for promotion to open supervisory positions. These roles support store management in executing store operations, driving performance, and fostering customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with management and store staff
  3. Supervise activities by assigning, directing, and following up
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff
  1. Customer Service
  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
  3. Promote CVS customer service culture (greet, offer help, thank)
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer proficiency
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends; overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Retail experience
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Weekly Hours: 20

Time Type: Part time

Pay Range: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, location, and other factors.
