Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to gain necessary skills, completes basic operations and management training, and learns about key aspects of the business (e.g., building customer loyalty through exceptional service) and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These roles support store management by driving store performance, ensuring smooth operations, and leading staff in the absence of a manager, with responsibilities including opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew by assigning, directing, and following up on activities.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.

  2. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  3. Promote CVS's customer service culture—greeting, offering help, and thanking customers.
  4. Handle customer relations issues per company policy to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  5. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, and computer proficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details

Weekly Hours: 40

Time Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $17.25 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
