Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position designed to prepare employees for higher-level supervisory roles, such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, learns about key aspects of the business—including building customer loyalty through exceptional service—and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisor positions. These leadership roles support the store management team in driving store performance and building customer loyalty through excellent service. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads the store staff, ensures smooth operations, and oversees opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
    • Work effectively with store management and staff
    • Supervise store crew activities, including assigning, directing, and following up
    • Communicate effectively with management and staff
  2. Customer Service
    • Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints
    • Promote CVS customer service culture—greeting, offering help, and thanking customers
    • Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience
    • Maintain customer confidentiality
Qualifications

Required: Deductive reasoning, analytical skills, computer skills, advanced communication skills, and flexibility to work early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Preferred: Retail experience.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Additional Details

Weekly Hours: 29

Time Type: Part time

Pay Range: $17.10 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, location, and other factors.
