Job description

Position Summary

The Shift Supervisor Trainee role is an entry-level, short-term position that prepares employees for higher supervisory roles such as Operations Supervisor or Shift Supervisor. The trainee performs assigned work to develop management skills, learns about key aspects of the business, including building customer loyalty through exceptional service, and CVS/pharmacy culture.

Upon successful completion of the training, trainees are eligible for promotion to open supervisory positions, supporting store management in driving store performance and customer loyalty. When no manager is onsite, the supervisor leads store staff, ensures smooth operations, and completes opening and closing procedures.

Essential Functions
  1. Management
  2. Work effectively with store management and staff.
  3. Supervise store crew activities, assign tasks, and follow up.
  4. Communicate effectively with management and staff.
  5. Customer Service
  6. Assist customers with questions, problems, and complaints.
  7. Promote CVS customer service culture by greeting, helping, and thanking customers.
  8. Handle customer relations issues per company policy, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  9. Maintain customer confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Deductive reasoning, analytical, and computer skills.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule including early mornings, overnights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in retail.
Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Additional Details
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 20
  • Part-time role
  • Pay range: $16.00 - $23.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, and location.
